Hi Chris, thanks for your mail. Yes, we have the same Louis Lein/s off the IGI. I am assuming that this is THE Louis even though the birth years are 7 years apart. I know from family rumour that he came from this area and nobody else seems to match at the moment. Therefore, it is tentative but likely. He may have lied on the census as his wife was apparently born in around 1835 too. Maybe he didn't like the age gap being on the census but the IGI tells the truth! I've known stranger things in my tree so far. He would have therefore been 18 when his first child was born so not outside the realms of possibility. I have his parents as being Joseph and Sophie Magdalene Stille who married in 1838. This was also found on the IGI but I don't know how else to find German records locally at the moment. I am happy to receive your GEDCOM and look forward to hearing from you again. Hope this has been of some help. Julie. julie dobson [jooolsdobson@yahoo.co.uk] sent: Fri 18/05/2001 19:08
